A lifelong passion for building
My journey in the building trade began over 30 years ago, right after leaving school. My love for this work runs deep; I'm never happier than when I have a trowel or tool in my hand. I founded Jmbuildingdirect to continue this passion, bringing high-quality, reliable building services to our customers. There's a real need for skilled tradesmen in this part of Scotland, and I'm proud that our services help to meet that demand.
Mastering building challenges
With over three decades in the trade, I've had the privilege of contributing to diverse and challenging projects. From football stadiums and M.O.D. buildings to huge listed property restorations and even vital reconstruction work after the Manchester bombings in the late '90s, I've worked alongside and learned from the very best. This experience has equipped me with unparalleled confidence and knowledge, allowing me to solve complex problems and navigate obstacles in any building construction environment, big or small.

Fence repair & Shed build Jay phoned me the day after I put my job up and offered to come have a look the same day to see what needed to be done. He talked me through different options he could carry out to fix my fence, he even gave me an option of a more cost effective way of carrying out the Job. After agreeing on the job, Jay came to carry work out within the week where he brought all materials required. This was a repair job to my current fence. Jim took off all existing boards and replaced 5 rotten fence posts with concrete. The fence is solid now 👌. Jay carried out the work on his own and didn't even stop for a break he completed it all within 1 day and the garden was left he same as it was before he arrived. Jay took all rotten posts and any excess rubble away in his van, very clean and tidy job with no issues. I'll definitely be on the phone to him for more jobs in the future 👍
